Project Description
This original artwork is the main feature in the lobby entrance of a boutique hotel in downtown Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Ceiling suspended, this element incorporates 132 lengths of aluminum tubing meticulously handcrafted and machined into 12′ lengths. These lengths were then mechanically fastened to mounting plates above and below.
Due to its size, the piece was fabricated in 4 segments, with each of these fitted into an upper and lower mounting bracket once on site.
The entire assembly majestically floated above the floor, and once securely fastened to the ceiling, was gently lowered into place, caressing the floor. The gap space remaining at the top was completed with a thin molding strip finished in Gold METANODE with clear-coat satin finish to match.
